Plants adapted for extreme dwarfing are juniper, pine, elm, maple, cypress is suitable for bonsai culture. In a Tropical place like India, the tree species like Sapota, Banyan, Casuarina, Boungainvilla, Jade, Juniper, Tamarind, Adeniumand Ficus spp and shrubs like west indian cherry are well suited.
