Trees Suitable for Bonsai Making


Plants adapted for extreme dwarfing are juniper, pine, elm, maple, cypress is suitable for bonsai culture. In a Tropical place like India, the tree species like Sapota, Banyan, Casuarina, Boungainvilla, Jade, Juniper, Tamarind, Adenium, and Ficus spp and shrubs like west indian cherry are well suited.

3. Japanese Cedar.
4. Wisteria.
5. Pyracantha.
6. Japanese black pine.

Plants suitable for Shaded gardens:

1. Azalea.
2. Chinese yew.

4. Ginko.
5. Japanese Maple.

Plants suitable for indoors :

A. Bright sunny rooms:

2. Bougainvillea.
3. Pomegranate.
4. Chinese yew.
5. Pistachio.

B. Dull rooms:

1. Carmona.

3. Myrtle.

Adenium Obesum or Desert Rose Bonsai It is a South African shrub having a swollen succulent stem and bearing showy pink and white flowers after the leaves fall.
